Our Family
Deeply-rooted in our family heritage, we came to the United States to forge a new path in the ranching industry. In the late 1900’s, Alfonso Ramos Sanchez brought the family business to New Mexico. Pioneered by his son, Juan Ramos Baeza, along with George Chapman of Amarillo, Texas, they achieved producing high-quality beef through the use of progressive and uniform Bonsmara genetics.
Now in its sixth generation in ranching, our family strives to be excellent caretakers of our land in New Mexico and Oklahoma. Together as a family, we decided to embark on a new journey: deRamos Premium Meats. This modern adventure allows everyone to have a seat at our table and experience our high-quality meats and products.
By raising our cattle on our ranches, and processing them at our family owned facility, we guarantee that our products exceed the highest quality control, humane handling, and sustainable regenerative agriculture standards. Our Cattle
As a family, we are committed to raising superior Bonsmara cattle. Two decades ago, the Bonsmara cattle breed made its way from South Africa to North America and since then the Ramos family has blazed a trail for Bonsmara cattle in the United States. The Ramos family fell in love with the breed due to their efficient and high quality genetics.
Bonsmara cattle originate from South Africa and are a rare RED cattle breed sought after for its unmatched tenderness.
Grown naturally in the United States in large pastures with the highest humane handling standards, Bonsmara cattle thrive as the healthiest cattle in America, as established by third party Kosher verification. No other cattle in America have higher consistent Kosher rates than Bonsmara. They do not require antibiotics and added hormones to stay healthy.
Bonsmara is sourced from a single producer in the United States, who ensures the integrity of the breed and quality of the beef from ranch to plate. The Ramos family certify all Bonsmara cattle through the American Bonsmara Association to guarantee the beef is Premium Bonsmara Beef.
Consistent tenderness, juiciness, and true beefy flavor are distinguishable hallmarks of Bonsmara beef.
